Normand Pacific won the quarterly SGO contest 2nd Quarter of 2011

Normand Pacific won the quarterly competition with a record high number of SGO's (Solstad Green Operations) registered: 340! On the places behind the winner we find Normand Jarl, Normand Mjolne, Normand Drott and Normand Skipper which all have more than 170 SGO registered. This is a fantastic achievement!

Updated:15.08.2011

We congratulate the crew on Normand Pacific on their award to their welfare fund for registering 340 SGO's this quarter! Thanks to all of you onboard who participated!

There have been a tremendous amount of Green Operations registered this quarter, especially from Skipper, Drott, Mjolne Jarl and Pacific! This high focus on fuel economy is also reflected in the total fleet fuel consumption. The average fleet consumption for 39 vessels was 12,594 m3 per month. For the same months in 2009, the consumption was about 10,500 m3/monthfor 26 vessels.

As anounced earlier we will award the crew on the 3 best vessels with our brand new SGO T-shirt! This award comes in addition to the 5,000 NOK to the number one vessel. All crew on Normand Pacific, Normand Jarl and Normand Mjolne will all receive SGO T-shirts.

Once again, a new quarterly record for registered SGO’s has been achieved this quarter. A total of 3,158 fuel reducing operations has been registered. The reported estimated fuel saving was 7,757 m3 which gives a fuel saving estimate of 17% of the total fleet fuel con

The average fuel consumption used per vessel per day is now just under 11 m3 whereas before the campaign was launched the corresponding consumption was about 13.2 m3 per vessel.  This is a considerable improvement!

A real fuel saving of this size means 21,000 tons of reduced CO2 emission and about 40 million NOK in fuel cost savings this quarter. We also expect this to result in 3-5 million NOK in maintenance savings.

This quarters SGO's also means that Solstad will support the Rainforest Foundation for preservation of an additional area of 3,158,000 m2 of rainforest for one year.

The Q3 2011 campaign has already started so there is another opportunity for those of you who want to show that you operate ships in a cost effective and environmentally friendly way and at the same time contribute a little extra income to the welfare fund onboard!

The next winner will be published first week of October 2011.
