With a total of 99 'Green Operations' registered, it was the Normand Progress who ran off with the victory this time, followed closely by the N. Installer, N. Ivan and N. Clipper.
The main 'Green Operations' done on N. Progress are related to how many running engines that are needed, Green DP and optimized trim.
We congratulate the Normand Progress on their award which is NOK 5,000 for their welfare fund and thank all of you who participated for your efforts!
For the entire fleet, the number of 'Green Operations' registered in 1Q2010 was even higher than for 4Q2009 with a total of 1,101 'Green Operations' done. This resulted in an estimated fuel saving of 3,678 m3 or about 10%!
A real fuel saving of this size means 10,000 tons of reduced CO2 emission and about 13 MMNOK in fuel cost saving this quarter!!
In addition, Solstad will support the Rainforest Foundation for preservation of a rainforest area of 1,101,000 m2 for one year.
We are already a couple of weeks into a new campaign period so there is another opportunity for those of you who want to operate ships in a more environmentally friendly way and at the same time contribute a little extra income to the welfare fund onboard!
The next winner will be published first week of May 2010.
See 'Current status' for information about this reporting period.
