Back to the crew on Normand Pacific, they can look forward to 5000 NOK that can be used freely through the welfare fund on board. Solstad has for some time now contributed to the welfare on board through the SGO campaign, and will of course keep it up, because it is a vital part of our business to stimulate “green initiatives”, same time it is deeply rooted in our environmental policy, from top down. Normand Pacific has been working as a “floating hotel” for Veolia, but still working as a flotel they have been able to keep the environment high up on the agenda every day. Although their SGO registrations is fairly predictable they still have to be written and registered, this is good work. Also worth mentioning it that when Normand Pacific came alongside in June the crew immediately started chasing after SGO Electricity savings.
During this quarter we have also officially started the SGO campaign in the Nor fleet, and it has so far been a success, Nor Chief and Nor Supporter are on the upper half on the quarterly ranking, and from what I have experienced from being in contact with other Nor crews, they will soon follow the two most ardent vessels. Environmental focus is growing stronger and stronger every year around the globe and it is very satisfying to see all our vessels embracing the SGO challenge by asked questions to the client, planning routes together with the client, and working hard to find the most energy effective way to operate the vessel, this is SGO in practice!
Normand Pacific will also be entitled to T-shirts, also Normand Jarl and Normand Atlantic. Pacific got a re-fill in February, but there might be a need for new shirts now? Jarl and Atlantic did not receive any shirts for their efforts in Q1, so the same goes for these vessels, please check shirt status on board, I will be happy to send you a re-fill if needed. Send me sizes and how many on both shifts, make sure that everyone on a schedule on board receives a shirt.
Q2 report will this time contain vessel categories, you should find your vessel categorized in one of the 3 types, PSV, OCV or AHTS. Normand Corona is on top in the PSV class, Normand Pacific in OCV class and Normand Atlantic is number one, for the moment, in the AHTS category.
We had a reduction in fuel consumption this quarter 49,822m3 (Q2 -2012) compared to last quarter 52,176m3 (Q1-2012), average per month for Q2 was 16,607 m3 compared to 17,392 m3 in Q1.
Happy SGO hunting!
