Normand Drott became the greenest vessel for 3rd Quarter 2010

Normand Drott won the ‘Greenest Ship Award’ for 3Q2010 with a total of 166 'Solstad Green Operations' registered. This is a new quarterly record! On the places behind the winner we find N. Skipper, N. Trym, N. Jarl and N. Clipper. They all have about 100 or more SGO’s!

Updated:07.10.2010

We congratulate the crew on N. Drott on their award (NOK 5,000) to their welfare fund. Thanks to all of you onboard who participated!

The crew on N. Drott have in an exemplary way, since the launch of the SGO campaign in September 2009, utilized almost the entire register of 'Green Operations'!

For the entire fleet, a record high number of SGO’s were registered in 3Q2010 with a total of 1,606 fuel reducing operations done. The reported estimated fuel saving was 3,989 m3 or about 10% of the total fleet fuel consumption.

A real fuel saving of this size means 11,000 tons of reduced CO2 emission and about 20 millilion NOK in fuel cost savings this quarter.

For 3Q 2010, Solstad will support the Rainforest Foundation for preservation of an additional 1,606,000m2 of rainforest area for one year. The rainforest area preserved totally for 2010 equals now an area larger than 600 football fields!

The 4Q2010 campaign has already started so there is another opportunity for those of you who want to show that you operate ships in a cost effective and environmentally friendly way and at the same time contribute a little extra income to the welfare fund onboard!

The next winner will be published first week of 2011.
