Same procedure as last quarter, Normand Pacific still on top in the SGO contest.

Normand Pacific won the quarterly competition...again, with a record high number of SGO's (Solstad Green Operations) registered: 621! Normand Jarl came in second with a nice 394, Normand Clough third with 233. Bravo!! It is also worth mentioning that the 3 top positions on the list has improved 60% from last quarter.

Updated:25.10.2011

The crew on Normand Pacific are filling up the welfare account, 5000nkr has been shipped to the boat for common enjoyment, and the 621 SGO operations put down this quarter is a very good achievement. Thanks to all of you onboard who participated!

The SGO program has become a huge success, there is no doubt about it, and this quarterly statemet from the Environmental Engineer could just have been a blueprint of Q2, because there seems to be no limit to how many operations a ship can do, sametime we know that some contracts are more "tuned" up for SGO then others. Normand Vester has surely picked up the ball and are now all the way up there fighting for grace and glory...and Green T-Shirts, it would be my pleasure to give them our proud shirts next quarter...if...

Fuel consumption was slightly higher this quarter, compare with q2, due to contractual reasons and ship movements. We came in just over 15,417 m3 per month (12,594 m3 q2), but still looking good overall.

As anounced earlier we will award the crew on the 3 best vessels with our brand new SGO T-shirt! This award comes in addition to the 5,000 NOK mentioned above, to the number one vessel. The crew on Normand Pacific will have to wear them out before they get new shirts, Normand Jarl will receive additional shirts and Normand Clough brand new shirts to entire crew...just to summarise that part of the campaign.

4,162 fuel reducing operations has been registered this quarter. The reported estimated fuel saving was 10,079 m3 which gives a fuel saving estimate of 17.7% of the total fleet fuel consumption. A real fuel saving of this size means 27,000 tons of reduced CO2 emission, meaning Solstad will preserve rainforest, same size as 650 football pitches!

The Q4 2011 campaign has already started so there is another opportunity for those of you who want to show that you operate a ship in a cost effective and environmentally friendly way and at the same time contribute a little extra income to the welfare fund onboard!

Happy SGO hunting! :)
