With a total of 105 operations, it was the Normand Mariner who ran off with the victory this time, followed closely by the Normand Pioneer. We congratulate the Normand Mariner on their award which is NOK 5,000 for their welfare fund and thank all of you who participated for your efforts!
Since the launch of this campaign in September 2009, more and more vessels have registered green operations and fuel saving measures. The Normand Mariner has introduced fuel saving measures a total of 65 times. The estimated fuel saved by these measures is around 459m3 (395 tons) in approximately 3 months or 37% of their actual consumption. This indicates that a lot of your operations are being carried out with the thought of reducing fuel consumption.
In close second place we find the Normand Pioneer which was almost as active as Mariner with 98 green operations registered. In addition to its focus on introducing measures to reduce fuel consumption, it must also be mentioned that Pioneer has registered the most varied measures to reduce fuel consumption in the fleet. Its documentation of these has also been excellent so it is not only photos of the Hywind tow that Pioneer shall be associated with but environmentally-friendly operations! All honour to the Pioneer for this!
In total 922 Green Operations were registered in our first period and this has given an estimated reduction in fuel consumption of 3,047 m3 or 10% of the total consumption for the fleet!
We would remind you that a new campaign has now begun (from 1st January) so there is another opportunity for those of you who want to operate ships in a more environmentally friendly way and at the same time contribute a little extra income to the welfare fund onboard.
The next winner will be published on April 1st.
